ΧΑΡΧΑΛΑΚΗΣ:ΣΥΝΑΝΤΗΣΗ ΜΕ ΤΟΝ ΕΚΤΕΛΕΣΤΙΚΟ ΑΝΤΙΠΡΟΕΔΡΟ ΤΗΣ ΕΥΡΩΠΑΪΚΗΣ ΕΠΙΤΡΟΠΗΣ κ. RAFFAELE FITTO

ΣΥΝΑΝΤΗΣΗ ΜΕ ΤΟΝ ΕΚΤΕΛΕΣΤΙΚΟ ΑΝΤΙΠΡΟΕΔΡΟ ΤΗΣ ΕΥΡΩΠΑΪΚΗΣ ΕΠΙΤΡΟΠΗΣ κ. RAFFAELE FITTO

Προσκεκλημένος του Υπουργού Ναυτιλίας και Νησιωτικής Πολιτικής κ. Χρήστου Στυλιανίδη, συμμετείχα σήμερα στην υποδοχή του Εκτελεστικού Αντιπροέδρου της Ευρωπαϊκής Επιτροπής κ. Raffaele Fitto, αρμόδιου για τον κρίσιμο τομέα της Συνοχής και των Μεταρρυθμίσεων.

Ο Αντιπρόεδρος ενημερώθηκε για ορισμένα κομβικής σημασίας έργα που χρηματοδότησε το Ταμείο Συνοχής στα νησιά της Αττικής, όπως ο ΧΥΤΥ των Κυθήρων και ο υποθαλάσσιος αγωγός ύδρευσης της Αίγινας.

Κατά την τοποθέτησή μου, που έγινε στα Αγγλικά, τόνισα τη σημασία των χρηματοδοτικών εργαλείων της ΕΕ για τη νησιωτική ανάπτυξη και παραίνεσα τον Αντιπρόεδρο να δώσει ιδιαίτερη έμφαση στους εξής τομείς:

1. Διαχείριση στερεών και υγρών αποβλήτων

2. Ύδρευση

3. Πολιτική Προστασία

4. Λιμενικές Υποδομές

5. Οδικό Δίκτυο

6. Προσβασιμότητα και διασύνδεση με την ηπειρωτική χώρα

7. Κοινωνική Πολιτική με έμφαση στο Δημογραφικό

Μέσα από την πρωτοβουλία για τη νησιωτικότητα της DG Reform, την οποία για το Υπ. Ναυτιλίας χειρίζεται ο εξαιρετικός Γενικός Γραμματέας Μανώλης Κουτουλάκης, επιδιώκουμε να βάλουμε τα ζητήματα των νησιών στην προμετωπίδα των ευρωπαϊκών πολιτικών.

Τέλος προσκάλεσα τον Αντιπρόεδρο στο Διεθνές Συνέδριο που θα γίνει στα Κύθηρα τον Οκτώβριο για τη φέρουσα ικανότητα των υποδομών.

Στο περιθώριο της συνάντησης, συζήτησα διεξοδικά με τον αρμόδιο Υπουργό τα ζέοντα προβλήματα που έχουν ανακύψει στον ακτοπλοϊκό τομέα, αξιώνοντας αμεσότερες παρεμβάσεις, δήλωσα δε στον Υπουργό ότι θα εισηγηθώ στο Δ.Σ. την απαίτησή μας για θέσπιση ελάχιστων τεχνικών και λοιπών προδιαγραφών για κάθε πλοίο που θα εντάσσεται στις άγονες γραμμές των νησιών μας, ώστε να μην συνεχιστεί η άδικη και αδικαιολόγητη ταλαιπωρία των νησιωτών.

Την ερχόμενη Πέμπτη θα έχω εκ νέου τη χαρά να παρακολουθήσω τον Αντιπρόεδρο Fitto, ο οποίος θα απευθυνθεί στην 1η Ολομέλεια της Επιτροπής των Περιφερειών για τη νέα πενταετή θητεία, όπου θα λάβω μέρος.

MEETING WITH THE EXECUTIVE VICE-PRESIDENT OF THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION, Mr. RAFFAELE FITTO

Following an invitation by the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, Mr Christos Stylianides - Χρήστος Στυλιανίδης, I participated today in the reception of the Executive Vice-President of the European Commission, Mr. Raffaele Fitto, responsible for the crucial area of ​​Cohesion and Reforms.

The Vice-President was informed about some key projects financed by the Cohesion Fund on the islands of Attica, such as the Kythera Waste Management Project and the Aegina underwater connection with the water supply system of Athens.

During my statement, which was made in English, I stressed the importance of EU financial tools for island development and urged the Vice-President to give particular emphasis to the following fields of policy:

1. Solid and liquid waste management

2. Water supply and resilience

3. Civil Protection

4. Port Infrastructure

5. Road Network

6. Accessibility and interconnection with the mainland

7. Social Policy with an emphasis on Demographics

Through the DG Reform’s insularity initiative, for which the Secretary General Manolis Koutoulakis has done a great work, we seek to put island issues at the forefront of European policies.

Finally, I invited the Vice-President to the International Conference to be held in Kythira next October on the carrying capacity of infrastructure.

On the sidelines of the meeting, I discussed in detail with the Minister the pressing problems that have arisen in the coastal shipping sector, demanding more immediate interventions, and I declared to the Minister that I will propose to the Municipal Board our demand for the establishment of minimum technical and other specifications for every vessel operating in our region, in order to put an end to the islander's isolation problems.

Next Thursday, I will once again have the pleasure of attending Vice-President Fitto, who will address the 1st Plenary Session of the Committee of the Regions for the new five-year term, where I will take part.
